| Park in Old road
-> walk along Old road -> at
sign -> Chantry Park -> turn left
and follow narrow road to steel gate on right with a stile on left and
a foot bridge on right -> cross stile -> follow track to sluice (ignoring
first foot bridge) -> at sluice follow track left to pumping
station-> over steel stile behind pumping
station -> follow the bank of river along to a steel gate ->
ignore any paths to right before
the gate-> (view of Oast house and Church
ahead)
go through gate -> ignore track to left -> turn right -> follow track to Chitty -> at road turn right -> follow tarmac road -> pass Old School House -> continue on road bending right then left -> (ignore signs on right for Wansum walk) pass Tipper cottage -> after the bend in the road -> sign for Saxon Shore Way on right -> follow field field edge with ditch on left ot footbridge on left -> cross footbridge -> ahead across field to foot bridge in hedge -> cross bridge -> onto road -> straight across road -> follow footpath -> Saxon Shoreway sign -> pass Wesleyan chapel -> at next road turn left -> follow road to T junction -> turn left -> the Gate Inn is on the right hand side of the road.
