| Out of Black Horse Inn -> go right -> at road junction -> turn right -> lookout for the Greensand way signpost on left of road and cricket ground on right ( Black Horse carport sign) -> turn right and cross the cricket ground to gap in orchard hedge -> ahead following orchard track -> pass Sheerland Farm House -> pass orchard cottage -> continue on track to road -> cross road ->down enclosed path to stile cross stile -> bear half right across field to Surrender -> through iron kissing gate -> turn left following track -> look out for gate on right into orchard -> follow yellow way markers at wooden gate (track goes right) -> go straight on -> down woodland path -> at road turn left -> follow road uphill -> pass Benacre Lodge on left -> Highridge on right ->pass Burnt oak wood on right -> take byway on left before houses and farm -> follow byway to Hall farm -> after farm go straight on over road -> across field to stile in hedge (hidden?) -> straight across field -> over stile -> pond on right -> straight on between paddock ( on left ) and old tennis court ( on right ) -> over stile -> (Hothfield Bogs) turn left -> follow path lookout for steel and chain squeeze stile on right -> go through stile -> pass pond ( on your right ) -> follow Stour Valley Walk signs across common -> where Stour Valley walk goes left -> turn right -> head East across the open common -> through wood back to road -> turn left back to the car park.
